UPI & Cyber Fraud Cost India ₹11,333 Crore in 2025 — MHA Report
A Ministry of Home Affairs cybercrime report reveals India lost over ₹11,333 crore to online fraud in 2025 — with UPI payment fraud, fake KYC calls, and WhatsApp job scams as the top three categories. Over 1.2 million complaints were filed on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in). The Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 received 7 lakh calls.
